Acer's Iconia notebook features two 14-inch monitors-one instead of a keyboard with a multitouch virtual keyboard when necessary.
Computer maker Acer jump into Android and Windows Tablet market with both feet, but at a press event in New York, the company also took the wraps off Acer Iconia, futuristic new computer notebook that opens like a traditional notebook to feature two 14-inch multi-touch displays … and no keyboard. Design gives users spread their content across two monitors and bring up a virtual keyboard when necessary, in theory, offer mainstream productivity with a ton of screen real estate for enjoying photos, video, and other media.

Iconia will features two 1,366 by 768-pixel displays protected by ultra-durable Gorilla Glass — and both monitors are "all-item" multitouch surface activation ten points per view. the system is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor, and users can choose either divide the tasks across screens — with say one application on one and another use, on the other — or distributed a window on both screens.Features iconic HDMI output for connecting to an HDTV, and Acer says Iconia will also be available with 3 G mobile broadband options.
Acer also develop software to support the touch-based interactions with applications: a five-finger grab call Acer Ring, which enables users to start the programs by quickly tabbing through the APP map as well as a virtual keyboard (enable iPad-like type), a gesture, a managing Editor and a Device Control console. users can also convene the keyboard by placing both Palmer on the lower display, offers a gallerisider QWERTY layout with international keyboards. numeric keyboard, touchpad and predictive text input. Acer also offer touch-based access to photos, music, and video, as well as a new SocialJogger (for checking Facebook, YouTube and Flickr in the same place), MyJournal (to collect clips from Web sites) and a ScrapBook screenshots, notes, photo collections, and much more.
Acer announced release dates or pricing for Iconia, and so far in response to design seems mixed: while some welcome Acer to take a bold direction with traditional notebook design — rather like less of a Toshiba Libretto — other issues where productive the virtual keyboard and multi-touch interface can really be with mainstream programmes.
